Certain sample-specific issues may lead to a request for a redraw, including but not limited to low fetal fraction (minimum of 2.8% fetal fraction required), Websyndromes involves detection of cell-free fetal DNA fragments present in the plasma of pregnant individuals. As early as 8 to 10 weeks of gestation, these fetal DNA fragments comprise 6% to 10% or more of the total cell-free fetal DNA in a maternal plasma sample. The tests are unable to provide a result if the fetal fraction is too low (ie, <4%).
