If all you want to do with photos like this is to improve your portfolio, then step back for a bit. It’s a huge cliché, and it’s ethically dubious as well. We can’t relate to or sympathize with big controlling governments… but we CAN relate to people. We are seeing the world through the main character’s eyes — so make us FEEL what she’s feeling.
